It was a little over a year ago today, May 15 to be exact, that DocuSign announced the acquisition of Cartavi a company that I had co-founded with my partner Glenn Shimkus. At Cartavi, our mission was to provide real estate agents with a simple, mobile, and secure solution to help them better manage transactions from the cloud.
We took a different approach to building products. We actively listened to the market and focused on empowering agents with a comprehensive yet easy-to-use solution that allowed them to manage transactions digitally—removing the friction inherent in buying and selling a home, which involves various people and documents, and sensitive data.
Since our acquisition, several enhancements and new features have been added to our widely successful agent-focused products. As we continued to evolve the platform, what became consistently clear through countless requests was the need for a broker solution to bring the office and the field together.
Bringing it all together
Earlier this year, we launched our Digital Transaction Management (DTM) platform for brokers, DocuSign for Real Estate PLUS, Broker Edition. Our Broker Edition is truly an innovative solution that adds deeper Transaction Room functionality with real-time visibility, reporting, and document checklists that make managing a real estate brokerage easier, more compliant, and more secure than ever—enabling brokers to manage their business from anywhere, at anytime, on any device.
Since the release in February, DocuSign for Real Estate PLUS, Broker Edition has been enthusiastically received and adopted by more than 120 brokerages representing more than 13,000 agents, and continues to grow.
