Once you specify the files you wish to send, you can assign the routing order. Add the recipients who will receive and sign your document, or just receive a copy. Each recipient requires an email address and name, but they don’t need a DocuSign account. Even without an account, they can still open your document and complete their signing action.
Getting to the route of it
Here are DocuSign’s three routing options and their sending stats:
- Serial: 24% of transactions in 2016 were routed to a recipient following the act of another recipient.
- Parallel: 15% of transactions in 2016 had the envelope content delivered two or more recipients simultaneously.
- Simple: 61% of transactions in 2016 had only one recipient.
It is no surprise that complexity is inversely associated with popularity. This month’s fact also suggests that people prefer to control the order of events.
