This Sunday, November 9, DocuSigners will be taking to the streets of Los Angeles in support of Run for Her, a 5K-run/walk event benefitting the Women’s Cancer Program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. DocuSign is a proud sponsor of this event, which is celebrating its 10-year anniversary this year. Run for Her has raised over $6 million since its inception, with proceeds dedicated to improving awareness about ovarian cancer and supporting women’s cancer research at Cedars-Sinai.

We are delighted to have had 7 DocuSigners recently participate in the Los Gatos 5K event, and we are even more delighted to count Cedars-Sinai as one of our innovative customers in healthcare and life sciences.

In 2013, Cedars-Sinai implemented a fully digital e-consent process for their Research for Her registry. While Cedars-Sinai previously employed a traditional, paper-based registry with face-to-face consent, the online registry has allowed Cedars-Sinai to reach a broader patient population by using social media and online marketing to drive potential participants to the Research for Her website. Results have been incredible: trial accruals have increased nearly 5x per month and Cedars-Sinai received the 2013 Award for Excellence from the Health Improvement Institute for its simple and innovative e-consent form. They are now able to link an increasing number of women to clinical trials, allowing researchers to enroll a greater number of patients, thus reducing clinical trial cycle time and advancing scientific research in a more efficient and effective manner.

This very same award-winning e-consent form will be alive and well at Run for Her in Los Angeles this Sunday, where Cedars-Sinai will be on site next to the DocuSign booth enabling women to consent to participate in women’s cancer research while at the event. If you’re female and over 18, we encourage you to visit and enroll in the Research for Her registry to be a part of critical research and clinical trials. With this program, Cedars-Sinai is improving our understanding of the unique ways in which cancer impacts women, as well as identifying novel treatments that may provide sustainable, long term care for female cancer patients.
