The “We Are DocuSign” blog series places the spotlight on employees from a variety of departments and provides a peek into what it’s like to work at DocuSign. This week, we sat down with Michael, Product Manager in Corporate Marketing.
Q: What do you do at DocuSign?
I work for the international marketing team as a Product Manager for France and the south of Europe.
Q: What do your friends and family think you do?
In France, many people test our solution when they subscribe to a service, log to their bank account or sign documents in bank branches. So my friends and family understand I market digital signatures.
Q: What is the best thing about working at DocuSign?
Working for an American company is a really new experience for me. I really like the pragmatism of my new colleagues and the sense of motivation DocuSign has.
Q: What is the best advice you can give to somebody starting a new job in your department at DocuSign?
My advice would be to open your mind and try to interact with all departments in the company. Everyone in the company has good intentions. They always do their best to help you. Do the same.
Q: What traits do you most admire in your colleagues at DocuSign?
I admire that everyone works in a very fast-paced manner towards a common goal.
Q: What traits do you think your DocuSign colleagues most admire in you?
I’d say my experience. I have nine years of in the digital signature world, and a strong knowledge of digital transactions, especially in Europe.
My first experience in financial services helped me to focus on adapting the message content to the industry and ensuring the message impact is effective.
Q: What is something most of your colleagues at DocuSign don’t know about you?
They know everything about me [laughs]. I have run four marathons and made the mountain step of Le Tour de France. My dream is to participate in the Paris-Dakar motorbike race.
Q: What is the best project you ever worked on at DocuSign and why?
I manage many digital transformation projects for big companies — the main one being the Crédit Agricole bank project. It is the biggest European deployment of digital signatures, with more than 50 billion transactions per year. My role is to manage all the projects — from adapting the P&S product to providing a customised APP, to managing tablet deployment in branches, to managing legal conformity, and finally, helping the account manager to close the deal. I’m very proud of this project.
Q: If you were not working at DocuSign and could do anything in the world, what would you be doing/do next?
I would be a soccer/football player helping France to win the Euro championship in June.
Q: What is the secret for you to happiness?
I grew up in North Africa. And there the people take philosophical approach to problems. I tap that mindset when I work. Other than that? Be in good health. Travel all around the world. That’s what makes me happy.
