BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions, one of the BNP Paribas Group subsidiaries, specialises in rental and financing solutions for professional equipment in many sectors—particularly agricultural equipment, logistics, and technological assets (office automation, IT, telecommunications, medical, etc. industry / distribution…).

With 3,400 employees and a presence in 20 countries, more than 1,600 requests are processed everyday. BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions customers are typically professional customers of the group's major banks, customers of industrial partners and those of distributors.

In 2020, as part of a digital transformation project, BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions implemented the DocuSign electronic signature, initially in France, Italy and Germany. Over time, new functionalities were integrated and the geographical scope was extended to four new countries: the United Kingdom, Spain, Belgium and the Netherlands.

eSignature is leveraged in different capacities to improve stakeholder experience

Laurence Contamina, Head of Innovation & Digital at BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions, tells us: “We use eSignature in two ways: as an autonomous, standalone solution, and in a connected way where it is integrated into the information system and broader digital journey.”

eSignature as a standalone solution has been deployed in 8 countries and is used in a simple way to sign a variety of document types, ranging from signing HR documents and supplier contracts, to internal documents such as delegations of authority. Laurence Contamina adds: "The users themselves initiate the signing of documents and steer the process through the Docusign portal".

As a fully integrated and core component of the digital journey, eSignature offers BNP customers and partners an enhanced experience that is more efficient, provides better visibility and can be completed from almost anywhere.

Laurence notes that “thanks to the integration of eSignature with our tools, we are able to offer our partners more autonomy and the provision of all DocuSign eSignature functionalities on our portal; triggering the signing process and monitoring the evolution of the workflow in real time”.

BNP accelerates and extends its use of eSignature

As in many sectors, the successive confinements linked to the COVID-19 pandemic have also contributed to considerably accelerating BNPs use of eSignature. Laurence Contamina remembers:  “We felt that the crisis had been a catalyst for digital in B2B in general. This has resulted in renewed interest in our tools. The integration eSignature was also seen as a huge advantage.”

Since its launch, over 60,000 envelopes have been sent for signature, this is only set to continue to grow as four additional countries are set to deploy eSignature. The organisation forecasts that more than 250,000 envelopes will be sent over the next three years.
