DocuSign Announces Winners of Share Your Story Blog Contest
Entrants Share Stories About How DocuSign Saved the Day and Exceeded Customers’ Expectations
SEATTLE - October 1, 2009 - DocuSign, the leading provider of on-demand electronic signature and contract execution solutions, today announced the winners of the DocuSign Share Your Story blog contest. DocuSign received numerous blog entries and corresponding Twitter® submissions before selecting two grand prize winners: Dean Ouellette of RE/MAX Achievers in Arizona and Karen Decker of The Decker Group in Virginia, who will each receive a $500 Visa gift card.
The contest held in early September requested entrants to blog and tweet about how DocuSign's electronic signature service helped their business. Submissions were collected and reviewed by DocuSign. The submissions from Ouellette and Decker received the same ranking and, after much debate, both were declared grand prize winners, each receiving a $500 Visa gift card. Runners-up include Andrzej Niemyjski, Greg Privitelli, Stacy Reno, Troy Vathanadireg, Socar Chatomon-Thomas, Chester Hall and Cherilyn Jones.
Ouellette blogged about a home buying experience with out-of-state buyers. The buyers did not have access to a fax machine so receiving, signing and returning paper offer documents was not an option. Ouellette sent a tweet asking for a good electronic signature solution and was directed to DocuSign. He registered on the DocuSign Web site and began immediately using the electronic signature process.
Ouellette was in a rush during the process and made a mistake using DocuSign and needed help. He sent a quick Twitter alert and within minutes received responses from both @DocuSign and @tgonser on Twitter. Ouellette was able to maintain his commitment to the buyer as the documents arrived electronically later that night. Later, Ouellette learned that @tgonser was Tom Gonser, founder and vice president of product strategy, who assisted Ouellette in sending his document out that Saturday evening. "DocuSign not only helped me get that deal done, they have saved me dozens and dozens of hours of chasing contracts over the last 8 months," blogged Dean Ouellette. "I have said it many times, besides my car and Blackberry, it may be the most useful tool I have in my real estate career."
The second grand prize winner, Karen Decker, described how she used DocuSign to help a U.S. Navy service member purchase her first home. The buyer - a young, single mother named Meghan - was stationed in Bahrain. Decker subscribed to DocuSign to facilitate the home buying process with this overseas military member when she was on a short leave in the United States. "Upon her return she quickly found a house she loved, but also had a few days leave and of course wanted to spend it visiting her daughter, but there were numerous documents which needed to be completed," blogged Decker. "With the help of DocuSign all necessary files were easily signed and transmitted to the lender and the closing agent while Meghan spent time with family in North Carolina."
Decker has since used DocuSign with other clients and received accolades from them for its ease of use.
