DocuSign ESIGN Hackathon to Award $25,000 to Top Apps, Offers Exposure To Large Companies & Potential Customers Attending DocuSign Summit
Cash Prizes for Most Innovative App, Best Consumer App, Best Enterprise App and Best Mobile App to Extend the DocuSign Service Through the DocuSign Connect API
SEATTLE – Apr 19, 2011 – DocuSign® (www.docusign.com), the world's leading electronic signature solution with more than six million customers who have signed more than 58 million documents, today announced that the first ever ESIGN Hackathon will take place May 14-15, 2011, in San Francisco. After 35 non-stop hours of heated competition, cash prizes totaling $25,000 (USD) will go to the developers, entrepreneurs and systems integrators who create the most innovative app, as well as the best consumer, enterprise and mobile apps.
Designed to be fun and inspire innovation and creativity in the developer community, the DocuSign ESIGN Hackathon will focus on the best new applications that integrate and extend the DocuSign Service into new markets, new platforms and/or new workflows using the DocuSign Connect API.
The DocuSign Connect API provides interfaces that enable developers to create standalone applications or integrations allowing external applications to send documents for signature, generate custom forms to collect data, report on the status of transactions, and embed the DocuSign signing process directly into other applications, both cloud and software based.
"There are a wide array of third party applications that can benefit from being able to originate, control and report on secure electronic document workflow," says Grant Peterson, chief technology officer at DocuSign. "With DocuSign's Connect API, developers can go way beyond just sending a document for a signature and enable applications to completely control the end-to-end document process."
The DocuSign Hackathon will run from 9 a.m. PDT on Saturday, May 14, until 8 p.m. PDT on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at DocuSign's Bay Area offices at 111 Sutter Street, 10th Floor in downtown San Francisco.
