Security Service Federal Credit Union Selects DocuSign Electronic Signature Service to Enhance Member Experience, Increase Satisfaction and Reduce Costs

Leading U.S. Credit Union Offers Easy, Convenient and Secure Online Services to Members Worldwide

SEATTLE – February 14, 2011 – DocuSign® (, the global leader in electronic signatures, today announced that Security Service Federal Credit Union (SSFCU) has selected DocuSign's industry-leading electronic signature service as the final leg in its online account acquisition process. SSFCU, the eighth largest credit union in the United States with $6 billion in assets, chose DocuSign for its scalability, security and ease-of-use for more than 800,000 SSFCU members worldwide. The credit union anticipates the DocuSign service will be fully implemented for member use in the first quarter of 2011. "DocuSign provided the best solution for us to achieve greater efficiencies while providing a positive member experience," said Aaron Leek, vice president for online services at SSFCU. "We thoroughly vetted DocuSign and concluded that it led in best practices. DocuSign offered the best method for our members to quickly, easily and securely sign online. DocuSign has helped us provide additional services to our members while reducing costs enterprise-wide."

Previously, SSFCU members opening accounts online could not complete the process electronically as there was no mechanism in place to capture the member's signature. With DocuSign, SSFCU members can quickly complete and electronically sign new account forms from a variety of Internet-connected devices—providing a safe, easy to use, end-to-end financial services solution.

SSFCU added DocuSign's optional ID Check authentication feature, provided through RSA, a leader in identity verification. DocuSign ID Check is a knowledge-based authentication method that validates the identity of a signer. Results of DocuSign ID Check authentication are recorded securely as part of the signing record. This form of authentication is used by top financial institutions within the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom for financial transactions where a strong signer identification is required. More than 1.5 million identities a month are authenticated using this form of verification.
